Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort – Review

This is not a sponsored post thus you can be sure that my review is honest and is based on my recent stay at this resort.
I’ve visited in May 2014 for a 4 days 3 nights trip and overall I would give it a 8 out of 10 rating.

Let me start by listing the things that I liked.

1. Architecture

Its architecture incorporates classic Thai elements like pointed roofs topped with chofahornamentation, dark timbre, and stone carvings with modern decor, while palm trees and tropical flowers add an exotic touch to the environment. A tiered swimming pool provides respite from the mid-day sun, and children can wade in their own kiddie pool as well.

View of the hotel from the main street. As you can see, the surroundings are well maintained with colorful flowers and trees. The resort itself looks very impressive in it’s traditional Thai design and can see clearly it is well kept
terrace pool
Tiered Pool in the center of the resort. All lower ground rooms have direct access to the pool. I love how the pools are separated from each other and somehow give a feeling of privacy. There is also a Jacuzzi in one of the smaller pools.

2. The Room

king size bed
Large room with king bed and wooden flooring. Spacious and elegant at the same time. The photo was taken at night after we arrived thus the color isn’t too bright but you can clearly see the room size, furniture and decor.
The bathroom is also very spacious. As you can see from the first photo on the left side, the bathroom is separated from the bedroom via a wide wooden sliding door. On the left side is the toilet, in the middle is the bathtub and on the right side is the rain shower room with a glass door. A giant wardrobe and make up table are also attached to the bathroom.
My favorite part of the room is the balcony. We had our morning tea and coffee while enjoying the view of the pool and the Patong beach. At night we could see the beach lights in the distance. Such a perfect place to chill and spend time with a loved one.

3. Location

The resort sits atop a hill in Patong overlooking scenic vistas of the Andaman Sea, long stretches of white beach, and distant mountains.
Fresh air and secluded, away from the noise and crow of the Patong beach area but easy access to it. Less than 5 minutes by tuk -tuk or motorcycles

The Padi restaurant located in the hotel lobby facing the magnificent view of the mountains and beach in the distance. Romantic candle light dinner with live piano is available all night in this restaurant.

A couple of things to note though

I recommend that you rent a motorbike while you stay here because it could be costly if you have to take tuk-tuk all the time. It is possible to walk down from Hotel to Patong beach within 15 minutes however  the walk up to the hotel can be very challenging. It could take about 30 minutes and is very tiring as you are literally walking up a hill. Tuk-tuk will cost you around 150-200 bath per way which quite expensive considering that it’s quite nearby to the center. The tuk-tuk drivers will make excuse of going up hill to increase the price.

This resort is recommended for couples and families stay. Not suitable for single traveler as it’s quite costly and quite.

We mostly ate in the city center thus I can’t really give feedback on their food. However during breakfast, there were quite a lot of flies around and it was quite disturbing. Breakfast is standard with cereals options, bread, fried rice / noodles and fresh cut fruits, nothing special.

You can easily book this hotel from Agoda or other hotel booking websites.
If you looking for a place which are peaceful, romantic  and have the traditional Thai element with great facilities this, resort surely is a great option. Hope this review is helpful and enjoy Phuket 😉
